First in Ohio to Implant Verisye™ Phakic IOL
Philip Roholt is the first surgeon in Ohio to Implant the Verisyse™ Phakic Lens Implant that recently received approval by the FDA.
The first procedures were performed in Surgery Alliance, a specialty surgery center in Stark County Tuesday, October 12, 2004.
As seen on Good Morning America, the procedure provides precise vision to the very nearsighted who are not LASIK candidates. Most of these patients could not safely obtain good vision in any other way.
The Verisyse™ Phakic IOL is a plastic intraocular lens that is inserted in front of the natural lens, between the cornea and the iris, during a surgical procedure. This type of lens is called a phakic IOL because the eye still has its natural lens in place.
Dr. Roholt is one of a select few surgeons chosen to implant the lenses. He has twenty years of experience serving the North East Ohio area.
